Victory Day

ON MAY 9, DUBAI HAVE PASSED AN GREAT CELEBRATION ON THE OCCASION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR. A HOLIDAY GALA CONCERT HAPPENED ON THE SCENE OF THE MADINAT ARENA COMPLEX WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE PUBLISHING HOUSE RUSSIAN EMIRATES.

The holiday was organized by diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Uzbekistan. The event brought together nearly 1,000 guests, including representatives of the UAE government, large private companies, religious organizations, the public and the media. DXP Production and the Russian Emirates Publishing House took part in the preparation and conduct of the event.

Welcoming words were addressed to the guests by the ambassadors of the CIS republics, whose grandfathers and great-grandfathers together went through the Great Patriotic War and made an invaluable contribution to the common Victory over Nazism. A photo exhibition was launched in the foyer, telling about the historical battles and participants of the anti-Hitler coalition, and the chronicles of the Great Patriotic War took a special place in the concert program of the evening. The first part of the concert included the famous songs of the war years, including "Twinkle", "Smuglyanka", "Katyusha" and many others, performed by compatriots.

The guest of honor of the concert was the world famous opera singer Lyubov Kazarnovskaya. She performed two popular Russian romances - Coachman, Do Not Drive Horses and Nochenka. Together with her, dance and pop groups from the CIS countries that specially arrived to participate in the celebrations (including the Kyzyl Zhar folk music ensemble from Kazakhstan, the Belarusian wind ensemble, a dance group from Armenia and others) took to the stage that evening. In addition, the evening was decorated with performances by pupils of creative studios working in the UAE - "Friendship" and Enana.

Dubai took the baton of the Immortal Regiment action: the children and grandchildren of participants in the most bloody war in history with their portraits in their hands took the stage. A special guest of the evening was war veteran Maria Aleksandrovna Batylina, to whom words of respect and gratitude sounded.

During the holiday, a number of valuable prizes were drawn: Russian-made smartphones YotaPhone, jewelry from Roberto Bravo, business class airline tickets flydubai, gift vouchers from the beauty salon Art of Beauty, and gold coins of the Central Bank of Russia from the Leader payment system. The holiday was also supported by INKAS, an armored car manufacturing company, Arabian Automobiles company and Nissan automobile brand, Russian Standard vodka brand, Stars Dome Realty company, GEMS International Al Khail international school.
