UAE authorities: Emirates aircraft "nearly crashed" in Moscow

The United Arab Emirates Civil Aviation Authority is investigating a "serious" incident involving an Emirates aircraft at Moscow's Domodedovo airport.

The UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is investigating an incident that has been given the status of "serious." It is reported that on September 10, 2017, the Airbus A380, flying Emirates EK131, was dangerously low when approaching Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

Assigning this category means that "an accident has almost occurred."

According to GCAA, Emirates Airline flew below the recommended altitude from the runway. It is reported that he managed to land only after two unsuccessful attempts.

According to an aviation expert, the typical height of a passenger plane in this situation is more than 600 meters, while during the incident the plane was at an altitude of about 120 meters.
