Dubai, UAE. Large retail companies in the United Arab Emirates announced a reduction in prices by 50% for five thousand types of goods. According to the UAE Ministry of Economy, the initiative dedicated to the Year of Tolerance is attended by more than 650 stores - from car dealers to local supermarkets and hypermarkets, which will offer not only discounts on goods, but also free services.
The ministry also launched several projects aimed at strengthening the ideas of tolerance and improving consumer protection. So, the two largest shopping conglomerates - Lulu and Union Coop - have already “frozen” the prices of more than 100 products in their hypermarkets for the whole year.
Automobile companies have promised that they will provide free basic service, maintenance and car wash, as well as discounts on some types of repairs and spare parts. In addition, they will help car owners, who cannot pay fines, pick up their cars from garages if they are held there for more than six months.
