Dubai launches the first floating pool in the country

Nakheel opens the first "floating pool" in the United Arab Emirates off the coast of Palm Jumeirah.

Dubai-based developer Nakheel has opened the UAE's first "floating pool" near Dubai's Palm Jumeirah Beach.

The pool belongs to the complex of clubs and restaurants of Breeze Beach Grill in Club Vista Mare.

The new attraction is 10 meters wide and 20 meters long. The depth of the pool is 1.2 meters. There is a platform with sun loungers, which seats up to 75 people.

The pool is attached to the seabed through a system that is used for pontoons and floating piers.

Tickets are available only for adults and cost 200 dirhams ($ US 54.5) per person, of which 100 dirhams ($ US 27) are deposits on the Breeze menu. Towels are provided. In the evening, the pool will be used for private events.

Torsten Rice, Managing Director of Nakheel Hotel, said: "The new attraction is unique in that it allows guests to choose whether to swim in the refreshing water in the pool or in the salt water in the Persian Gulf."
