April 5, 2011 in Dubai, the official opening of the new sports school of the International Wing Chun Organization took place, thereby opening a new page in the history of the development of oriental martial arts in the United Arab Emirates.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Faisal Al Kassimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah, Dubai Minister of Sports Ahmed Sheikh Halfan bin Lahij, and Mr. Majid Al Zaruni. The opening of the school, led by Si-Fu Kubanychbek Torobaev, was also attended by IWCO President, Si-Fu Donald Mack, and numerous guests from among martial arts fans gathered. The event was widely covered in the local press; in addition, television channels such as Dubai TV and the sports channel Kyrgyzstan TV provided live coverage of the school’s opening ceremony.
